Meet Anup, the Adrenaline Junkie!
In which area of Skagafjördur do you live?
I live in Varmahlid.
What are you doing for a living ?
I like to and do various jobs for living but I am a Raft guide and an extreme kayaker by profession.
How do you spend your free time in Wintertime and Summertime, and which season do you prefer?
I obviously prefer summer time like many others because of the long daylight and flowing rivers. During the summer time I am mostly going on a kayak mission looking for some waterfalls to jump over or simply any kind of adventure I can jump into. I spend half of my winter out of Iceland where there is sun, water and mountains. I like to spend at least half winter here to breath fresh air, relax with friends & families and chase my hidden creativity.
What makes Skagafjördur so unique for you ?
Well the answer is simple, the culture and the history of this place. I love when locals start singing and I love watching the sunset from various places!
What is your most memorable moment here?
I have spent 16 years in and out, so I have endless memories from this place. But my favourite time of all is by far the first winter I ever spent which was 2005. I worked in kindergarden for the experience and of course the main goal was to learn the language. That was the year my new life started.
